| Additional Notes | Fellows are expected to work with the department to expand access to underserved patient populations in the Pittsburgh area through clinical work or research. They are required to dedicate 1/2 day per week to these activities. How and where this is done is fellow dependent. Current options include serving uninsured/underinsured patients through the Birmingham free clinic, unhoused patients through the street medicine clinic, and partnership with community organizations for integrated primary care/academic assessments. Past fellows have partnered with Latinx community organizations to offer onsite evaluations in Spanish, established an adaptive rock-climbing program to promote social skill development in children with autism, and research investigating epigenetic outcomes in minority patients following brain injury. Submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae), a statement of interest and goals, three letters of recommendation (directly from referees), a completed APPCN verification form, and official graduate transcript to the APPA-CAS portal. For questions or technical difficulties please contact Terry Chao 412-232-7362 or chaot5@upmc.edu |
