Additional Notes

This is a complex clinical neuropsychological fellowship experience. We offer unparalleled training experiences in a very broad range of neurological and medical conditions. You will see low base rate conditions frequently and this creates a tremendous training opportunity not offered by many other programs. Historically, our program excels in providing experience with presentations of primary neurodegenerative disease but we also offer unique experiences in complex medical neuropsychology, neurosurgical applications (oncology, epilepsy, cerebrovascular) of neuropsychology, and interventions for individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment and Functional Neurological Disorder. We are an innovative clinical program, offering applications of neuropsychology not widely offered elsewhere. As such, we look for a learner who will thrive in our innovative and applied setting and is prepared to explore new ways clinical neuropsychology can be practiced.

The Clinical Neuropsychology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida began in 1995 with one fellow training at a time for a two-year program cycle and recruitment taking place only once every 2 years. This is the first cycle allowing us to recruit one fellow every year. The 2026-2028 fellow will have a second-year fellow companion in our current 2025-2027 cycle fellow. Former fellows have secured positions in academic departments, medical centers, private practice, and industry. Former fellows continue to innovate and contribute to the neuropsychology field with clinical work, research, and education.

Applications to this program are due on December 1, 2025. This program does not use APPA CAS. Please go to our fellowship website which describes the Application Process. We use a program called Recruit and the following materials must be submitted there: 1) cover letter, 2) personal statement, 3) copy of doctoral diploma if available, 4) official graduate school program transcripts, 5) APPCN Verification of Completion of Doctorate form completed by your doctoral program Director of Clinical Training, 6) updated CV, 7) any relevant publications in PDF form, and 8) 3 letters of recommendation from faculty that have worked with you and know you well. Letter writers should submit using the Recruit system or email Dr. Rush or Dr. Block directly.

Note: This is an advanced fellowship opportunity and our program has a non-negotiable pre-requisite that you have taken a graduate level course in neural systems and/or neuro-anatomy. It would be very hard to fully appreciate the learning opportunities in our setting without this base foundational knowledge.

Selected applicants will be notified by December 12, 2025 of an invitation to interview. In-person interviews are not required but will be offered on the invitee’s choice of either Friday, January 2, 2026 from 1 pm to 5 pm or, on Monday, January 5, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We are able to reimburse one night’s hotel stay. If in-person interviews are not possible, an invitee can schedule a personally tailored Zoom interview with Mayo Clinic Florida faculty and the current fellow.
